Lists!  Many people love lists for shopping, weddings, "to-do", personal projects, recipes, Christmas cards, bucket, packing for holidays, guests, hit-list, erm celebrity death list... better stop there me thinks but the reason I've listed them *ahem* is to help make the point about Twitter lists, why don't more people use them????

I've been asked recently by several clients why I use them because each time I assign someone to one of my lists they automatically receive a notification.  It seems that I'm almost on my own in using them in the Bristol area.  As with all things Social Media, I remind anyone who asks that the rules online are the same as they are offline.  SO if writing a shopping list or jotting down the names of everyone you want (or don't want) at your wedding helps you to organise yourself, don't you think the same can be said of using Twitter lists?  The answer is quite simply yes.

Don't forget also that the contributions you make to improving the usability of the online world do not go unnoticed.  By lumping groups of users together in your lists you make it so much easier for others to find what they seek and by doing so you carve out a niche all for yourself, something by which others remember you!
So if you're in Bristol, give it a go as it's a little lonely here right now.  If you're anywhere else in the world, take a look around and see who else is using lists already, start some of your own.  It's a busy, hugely populated space on Twitter so let's create a framework that makes it just that little bit easier for people to navigate.
Thanks for reading, now take a look at the screenshot of my Twitter page (in case you don't know where lists are!) and check me out on Twitter too @rorymcmahon76
